Our recent renovation project in the midtown area of Toronto involved a complete transformation of a rental basement unit. The space was gutted entirely, including the removal of the old drywall, floor tile, and bathroom fixtures. To ensure noise reduction between the upstairs and downstairs spaces, we installed double insulation in between the floor joists. We also did electrical work and installed new pot lights throughout the entire basement.
Basement Rental Unit Renovation
To improve the functionality of the space, we installed a custom-made full kitchen with quartz countertops and an island that could be used as a breakfast area. The kitchen was designed to optimize space and functionality, making it a perfect fit for the new tenants. In addition, we covered the entire space with new drywall, including patching, mudding, and painting, which gave the basement unit a modern and sleek appearance. We installed brand new vinyl flooring and modern baseboards, and in the bathroom, we removed a partial wall to create a larger space. We then installed heated floors and a modern walk-in shower complete with a niche to maximize space, a new vanity, toilet, mirror, and over the vanity light fixture.
Overall, our renovation project was a complete transformation of an outdated and underutilized space. Our team’s attention to detail, use of modern materials, and thoughtful design choices resulted in a beautiful and functional basement unit that is now ready for new tenants. We are proud of our work and look forward to showcasing this project on our website.
